If you have a D2 deal to offer me,
This is our protocol to overcome time wasters and imaginary deals.
A real seller understands the reasons for these questions,
And will answer them quickly as they have the information in their head.
If you are a broker go and ask the seller the questions do not answer them yourself you will not get a deal this way you will also find out if your seller is real! Do not ask for an ICPO or LOI before you answer all the questions the answer will always be NO!
I would expect to know the following:
Who the ICPO should be made out to?
(This should not be a problem if you are offering a real deal and you do represent the seller Do not ask for it in the mandates name or just made out to the seller you wont get one)
How many brokers and mandates are in the line?
What price? What is open/ closed?
(If you tell me you are a sellers mandate then do not expect to be on the buyers side)
What quantity?
(If a contract what is available? Dont ask me what you require!)
What is the location of the product?
(Port?)
What the buying procedures is?
What is the split between tanks, pipe and vessel?
(If this is a spot deal this is a must answer)
What POP documentation will be available?
(Please this is important)
What bank the pop is held in?
(Name and address only! This is important information for a quick deal)
Confirmation that the POP is in the same name as the ICPO is made out to?
Confirmation that the seller has the legal right to sell the fuel at that moment in time?
Confirmation that you can easily get the seller on a CC with the buyer to facilitate the deal?
